26 Foot Mural for Chabot Space & Science Center |

|
This latest painting is a 4' by 26' mural on canvas for the new Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, California. Joy Alyssa Day and I have been commissioned to illustrate all of the locations in the Universe where the different classes of meteorites have originated. This breathtaking panorama came into being as a digital image. The full size traditional media image was painted on a continuous sheet of canvas that scrolled across a custom jig of our design, mounted upon an adjustable hydraulic drafting table. The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake, near Johnson Space Center, Texas, holds an International Digital Science and Technology Art competition each year, sponsored by Scientific American magazine, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, SAIC, The Houston Museum of Natural Science and Reliant Energy. This year we entered the digital study of "The Origin of Meteorites" and garnered third place in an impressive collection of entries from all over the globe.
